Example Of An Email Generated From Ostendo
Ostendo uses its own Email application in conjunction with an Email Service API connection, rather than utilising Outlook or other Email applications. The major benefit of this is security permissions. Removing Outlook from the environment eliminates security and compatibility issues when integrating with such applications.
HTTPS vs TCP/IP:
HTTPS Environment:
When emailing Reports, Invoices, Orders etc.. Ostendo can either embed a URL link in the email or alternatively attach a physical file (Refer to General Rules for more information). In the case of a link, the recipient simply clicks on the link to open the file automatically via their browser allowing them to Print and/or download the file.
TCP/IP Environment:
When emailing documents from Ostendo environments running an TCP/IP protocol, we only ever attach a physical file to our email. No Links are included.
From Email Address:
The From Email Address is controlled automatically by Ostendo. This is determined as follows:
If the Ostendo User has an email address specified against their User Security Options settings, that address becomes the emailing 'From' address, otherwise the 'From' address is determined from the Emailing API Credentials Email Service Configuration.
